Mountain Navigation - £50per person 


This course is designed to build confidence, work on previous skills and learn further techniques. Navigation can appear to be complex but the key is to get out and practice to develop and maintain your skill set. This course will give you that chance with the guidance of a mountain leader. 

What the day includes - 
In the morning we will discuss our route planning, the route ahead and break it down into navigation legs brushing up your current skills and understanding what techniques to use and when. 

Once we have reached higher terrain we will focus on map reading and contour interpretation, relocation methods, bearings, grid references, slope aspect, what to do if you are lost or haven’t paid attention to your route and lots more! 
We will also look at digital navigation and its pros and cons. 

You must have basic navigation skills ( measuring distance, working out timings and bearings ) to attend this course along with good hill fitness.

This course will take place on Buachaille Etive Beag , Glencoe. 

You will need to supply your own compass and OS map ( 1:25k ) for this event. 

Meeting location and kit list will be received upon booking.                            Group ratio 1:6
