Keep it simple - ⛰️
Do you want to watch the sunrise whilst high up on the mountain top for summer solstice ?
Join us on an guided walk to watch the sunrise on the longest day of the year from the top of Ben Lomond, Scotland's most Southerly Munro.
What's Included in the event - Leaving Rowardennan Car Park at midnight we will start to ascend the tourist path. As we will be hiking by torch light for the ascent you must be comfortable walking over uneven terrain with reduced visibility, the mountain path has a mixture of terrain underfoot from high rock steps, bedrock and rocky sections throughout. The pace will be kept slow and steady as we ascend with several breaks throughout to refuel as our bodies are normally asleep in these small hours. . On the last approach to the summit the new day slowly starts to break , we aim to reach the summit about 4.10am to enjoy the display before the sun does rise at 4.30am on the longest day of the year.
If you are lucky enough you may just witness a spectacular sunrise inversion! We will be descending the same way down the tourist path, after a night hike this can feel rather strenuous as the tiredness starts to kick in. . You must have good hill fitness to be able to attend this event. Meeting location and kit list will be received upon booking Group Ratio - 1 : 6
