The views over the North west Mountains to Assynt are pretty unreal!
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  What the day includes -
An early start to the day as we have a fair amount of distance to cover to get us to the bealach. Starting on a good landrover track before leaving the forest behind and heading up the Glen adding gradient as we travel. After several hours of hiking our bealach is finally in reach and one you will visit twice more on this route. After a well deserved break we will ascend up next to the massive stone dyke wall that pretty much covers the side of Beinn Dearg. Leaving the wall behind for a short time we make our way to the summit of Beinn Dearg, our first Munro of the day.
Descending back to the dyke wall and back to the bealach and making our way to our second summit Cona Mheall. This ascent and descent of the second Munro is through a boulder field before catching the path to ascend once again back to Bealach An Lochain Uaine for the third and final time. Continuing along the ridge and ascending the shoulder of Meall nan Ceapraichean, our third Munro. As we start to descend we head over a Munro top before picking our way down through the rocky outcrops to the bealach.
A final ascent sees us reach our fourth Munro of the day Eididh Nan Clach Geala. Great efforts have been required to get this far and now just to descend down and catch the main path back down the Glen for the long walk back out.
You must have strong hill fitness and previous hiking experience to attend this event as we will be covering a mixture of rugged and rocky terrain.
Meeting location and kit list will be received upon booking.
